Presidential and National Merit Scholarship Recipients

Presidential and National Merit Finalist scholarship recipients are also eligible for a housing scholarship. The housing portion of this scholarship covers the cost of an on-campus, double-occupancy1 residence hall space for four years (eight semesters), as long as the student maintains continuous residency in on-campus housing.

Beginning Fall 2019, students who have lived in on-campus housing2 for two full academic years (four semesters, excluding summers), may have the option to either continue living in on-campus housing or take a portion of their scholarship to College View, our university housing apartment community, for their third and fourth year. Students may select any College View apartment option, but any cost beyond $5,000/academic year will be an additional personal expense to that student.

Students interested in taking their scholarship to College View must email jthornton@saffairs.msstate.edu with the their MSU ID information. Please note, awards for College View may not be reflected on the student's account until closer to the first day of class.

For more information, please contact the Department of Housing and Residence Life at 662-325-3555.

1Scholarships do not cover single or quad spaces. If the student chooses either of these room types, any cost beyond the double occupancy rate would be the students responsibility.

2On-campus housing does not include fraternity, sorority, or any other special housing accommodations. On-campus housing includes the following residence halls; Cresswell, Critz, Deavenport, Dogwood, Griffis, Hathorn, Herbert, Hull, Hurst, Magnolia, McKee, Moseley, Nunnelee, Oak, Ruby, and Sessums Halls.
