07/14/2020 - Reassignment Request Information
Thank you for participating in Online Room Selection (OLRS)! We are excited to help you make MSU HOME!
If you are still looking to perfect your MSU HOME, you can now log onto your Fall 2020 Housing application on the MSU Housing Portal and submit a Reassignment Request.
*Please note,
- Reassignment requests are granted in order of housing priority (your previously issued OLRS timeslots). Students will have the option to request their top three choices of reassignment by room type and zone (area of campus). If your second or third request is granted, we will continue to try to honor your first request.
- Students will have the opportunity to indicate whether they want to be reassigned with or without their current confirmed roommate. Students who are mutually confirmed roommates must each submit their own reassignment request in order to be moved as a pair.
- Reassignment Requests are limited and not guaranteed. Reassignment requests are based on availability due to other students cancelling or changing their assignment.
- Since these changes cannot be predicted by our office we cannot provide a timeline for reassignments. If reassigned, students will be sent a Reassignment email notification.

Enrolled First Time Freshmen at MSU are required to live in the residence halls; see Freshmen Residency Requirement. Enrolled freshmen who do not select a space but plan on attending MSU will be sent a housing assignment by the Housing Office based on spaces available after OLRS.
Have your plans changed and no longer include attending MSU? If so, please let us know by completing an MSU Cancellation Form.
