Living on campus is an exciting part of our campus community, whether you are a First-Time Freshman, Transfer or Graduate Student. University Student Housing at Mississippi State has a variety of housing options that are sure to accommodate your needs.

Once you have been admitted to the university, we encourage you to apply for housing. First-time freshmen are encouraged to apply for housing prior to April 1 to maintain their Housing Priority. Transfer students interested in applying for University Student Housing will be housed based on available bed spaces.  *There is a $100 non-refundable processing fee to apply for housing. 

Housing Application Steps

Please note the Housing Application consists of the following steps:

Be admitted.

Only students admitted to the university can apply for University Student Housing.


MSU NetID and Password.

Use your MSU NetID given to you by the Office of Admissions and Scholarships in your admission offer to establish your MSU NetID password at MyState.


Housing Application Portal.

The Fall/Spring Housing Application will continue to be available to admitted students into the Fall semester. Select the Fall / Spring application and complete each section. Click Submit My Application on the final step of the application process.


Housing Priority Deadline.

Please remember, the Housing Priority Deadline for First-Time Freshman is April 1. The Housing Priority Deadline for Transfer and Graduate Students is March 31. Students submitting their Housing Application after these date will be considered late applicants.


Online Room Selection
(OLRS).

First-Time Freshmen, Transfer and Graduate Students who have signed a Housing Contract will be able to select their rooms online during their allotted timeslot. Timeslots are assigned based on when they applied to the University. First-Time Freshmen select rooms in May; Transfer and Graduate Students select rooms in February/March.


Move-in
(MVNU2MSU).

All students with housing assignments will be able to participate in MVNU2MSU (Movin' You to MSU). Students will be able to sign up for a move-in time slot in late July. The student will be able to select an open date and time for the centralized move-in process. It is a fun day to make new friends and get settled into your new home away from home!

New Applicant

Continuing Student

Continuing Residents who wish to continue living in University Student Housing can apply through the Housing Portal for the Renewal Selection Verification Process (RSVP) beginning the first day of Spring term classes to the end of January. Upper-division spaces are limited and are available through a lottery process. See details here

Summer Housing

Summer Housing Applications will be available in the Spring of each year to Students enrolled in Summer Sessions.

Winter Break Housing

Winter Housing Applications are available in November of each year. Winter Housing is available only to current fall residents who are taking Winter Session classes and wish to remain on campus during that time. 

College View

College View is a partnership development that gives Upper-Division students the option of university-housing apartment living.
